Manteo has gone 9-1 against Cape Hatteras recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Manteo Redskins will head out to face off against the Cape Hatteras Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. Manteo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Manteo took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Holmes, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Manteo skirted past Holmes 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Redskins have posted since April 9, 2024.

Makenna Gray
| 03/11/25 @ Holmes | 15 |
| 03/07/25 vs Northeastern | 3 |
| 03/04/25 @ Northside - Pinetown | 10 |
Makenna Gray spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 7 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Manteo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peedee Berry, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Cape Hatteras made easy work of Northeastern on Monday and carried off a 28-9 win. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Audrina Huss was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Huss was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Hickman, who went 5-for-6 with six runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. Those six runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracie Wyatt, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
The win (which was Manteo's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cape Hatteras, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Manteo took their win against Cape Hatteras when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-2. Will Manteo repeat their success, or does Cape Hatteras have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
