Basketball Recap: Gate City Comes Up Short

Gate City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ridgeview Wolfpack. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since December 23, 2024.

Gate City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Ridgeview, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gate City will venture away from home to challenge Hampton at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ridgeview, they will square off against Abingdon at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ridgeview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
