Baseball Recap: Petal Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last five matches, Petal finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Oak Grove Warriors by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Warriors since April 8, 2022.

Easton Giger was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Petal's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Oak Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

While Petal had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
