Soccer Recap: Freeport Takes a Loss

Freeport lost against Deer Lakes back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Yellowjackets lost 5-0 to the Lancers. While losing is never fun, Freeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Deer Lakes are ranked 102nd).

Freeport now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Deer Lakes, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Freeport is set to square off against their familiar foe Burrell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Deer Lakes will face off against rival Leechburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
