Football Recap: Gulf Breeze Falls to South Walton in First Game of Season

Gulf Breeze had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the South Walton Seahawks and fell 35-6. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

JD Brown had an outrageously good game for South Walton as he threw for 270 yards and four TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in passer rating (159.5). South Walton's leading receiver Grant Gilmore was Brown's top target yet again, picking up 147 receiving yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Gulf Breeze will venture away from home to face off against Tate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Walton, they will welcome Fort Walton Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
