Baseball Recap: Lincoln's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Lincoln had lost four games at home, but after bumping their record up to 9-14 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hilliard Bradley Jaguars, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since May 10, 2024.

Lincoln got a great performance from Nathan Roberts as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Roberts has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Landon George was excellent, going 3-for-6 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

As for Hilliard Bradley, they now have a losing record of 12-13. Their loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

On Hilliard Bradley's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vince Navarro, who went 3-for-5 with one run. The Jaguars are 2-1 when Navarro posts three or more hits, but 10-12 otherwise.

Lincoln and Hilliard Bradley are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Lions will face off against Pickerington Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hilliard Bradley, they will head out on the road to challenge Grove City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Greyhounds' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
