Baseball Recap: Springfield Millers vs. Ashland Grizzlies

Springfield extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They lost 9-3 to the Ashland Grizzlies. If the Millers were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Grizzlies when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Springfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Leas, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

As for Ashland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 6-0).

On Ashland's side, Logan Trivette made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave Trivette a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

While Springfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
