Recap: Mayfield Panthers vs. Duanesburg Eagles
The Mayfield Panthers lost against the Duanesburg Eagles back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Mayfield's tough 73-48 defeat to the Eagles might stick with them for a while. Mayfield has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Defeat or not, Mayfield got some senior leadership from Cloey Dopp and Abigail Chest. Dopp scored 16 points, while Chest. almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Dopp is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Iannuzzi, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Mayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Duanesburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Mayfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Duanesburg will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Blue Devils at 2:00 p.m.
