Baseball Recap: Berthoud Victorious

Berthoud won the last time they faced Mountain View and things went their way on Monday too. The Spartans walked away with a 9-6 win over the Mountain Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Wyatt Barmes was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Berthoud: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 7-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisha Mosher, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

The victory got Berthoud back to even at 10-10. As for Mountain View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Berthoud will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Denver South at 4:00 p.m. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Mountain View, they will head out to face off against Thomas Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
