Basketball Recap: Cedar Shoals Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Cedar Shoals and Jones County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Cedar Shoals had to settle for second. They took a hard 55-39 fall against the Jones County Greyhounds. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 34th).

This is the second loss in a row for Cedar Shoals and nudges their season record down to 9-19. As for Jones County, the victory (which was their 26th in a row) raised their record to 27-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jones County beat Cedar Shoals by a score of 55-38 later that day.
