Sumner skates past Canterbury with ease

Recap: Sumner Stingrays vs. Canterbury Crusaders

The Sumner Stingrays scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Canterbury 76-32 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Sumner has managed all season.

Sumner got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Devin Baker out in front who scored 12 points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Karsten Walker, who scored 14 points.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylen Thomas, who scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Lou Donnelly was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Canterbury struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sumner racked up 24 assists.

The win (which was Sumner's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.67 points. As for Canterbury, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
