Baseball Recap: Frontier Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Frontier had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Glencoe on Monday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Mustangs have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Farmer made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Draffin, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Lane Thompson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory was the third in a row for Frontier, bringing their record up to 8-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Glencoe, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frontier will take on Tonkawa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glencoe, they will square off against Copan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
