Baseball Recap: Ash Grove's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ash Grove had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Diamond Wildcats. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Ethan Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ty Messley, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Ash Grove's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Diamond, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Coming up, Ash Grove will square off against Conway at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Diamond, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stockton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
