Lighthouse Baptist Academy suffers fourth straight loss at home

The Lighthouse Baptist Academy Ambassadors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 69-53 bruising from Gulf Pointe Latin. Lighthouse Baptist Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gulf Pointe Latin apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Micah Crumpler was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with three blocks for Gulf Pointe Latin. The game was Crumpler's third in a row with at least ten points. Dean Fillmore was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.

Lighthouse Baptist Academy bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lighthouse Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Gulf Pointe Latin will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
