Preview: Academy for Classical Education Gryphons vs. Rutland Hurricanes
After each having a week off, The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons and the Rutland Hurricanes will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on October 20th. Academy for Classical Education will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Two weeks ago, Academy for Classical Education got themselves on the board against Central, but Central never followed suit. They blew past the Chargers, posting a 48-0 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Academy for Classical Education, who have now won six games by 47 points or more so far this season.
Academy for Classical Education got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryson Vincent out in front who rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 54 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Scarbary, who rushed for 11 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Rutland got themselves on the board against Jordan two weeks ago, but Jordan never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Red Jackets.
Their wins bumped Academy for Classical Education to 6-1 and Rutland to 3-4.
Academy for Classical Education strolled past Rutland in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 44-30. Will Academy for Classical Education repeat their success, or does Rutland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
