Soccer Recap: Nipomo Comes Up Short

Nipomo's game on Tuesday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Cabrillo Conquistadores by a score of 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Nipomo came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Cabrillo are ranked 982nd).

Nipomo's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-3. As for Cabrillo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11-2 record this season.

Nipomo will be playing at home against Santa Ynez at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Cabrillo, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
