Softball Recap: Warrior Run Defenders vs. Montoursville Warriors
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Warrior Run walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Montoursville Warriors on Thursday, sneaking past 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Defenders have posted against the Warriors since May 13, 2016.
Mackenzie Litchard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Maura Woland was incredible, firing off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Warrior Run lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
