Softball Game Preview: Wonewoc-Center Wolves vs. Brookwood Falcons

The Wonewoc-Center Wolves will take on the Brookwood Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Wonewoc-Center has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 7.

Wonewoc-Center fell victim to Hillsboro and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-0.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brookwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Bangor 3-2.

Mallory Wallace made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, one run, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

Wallace wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Molly Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those two hits gave Hansen a new career-high.

Brookwood pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wonewoc-Center, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
