League recap: South Harrison tops King City to extend winning streak

South Harrison extended the longest winning streak in Grand River this week by beating King City, 52-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Bulldogs.

Gallatin took down Braymer 63-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chad Ness ran for 200 yards and caught two passes for 56 yards in the win.

Princeton's dynamic duo of Colton Hartley and Brant Faulkner proved tough for Maysville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hartley threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns and Faulkner had 104 yards receiving. Vince Jennings helped Princeton's passing attack out by catching four balls for 96 yards.

South Harrison's Dylan Heitz and Kaid Hendren have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Heitz has thrown for 1759 yards this season, while Hendren has 47 catches for 900 yards. The Tigers' Hartley leads the league in rushing yards with 1455.

Caleb Obert's team's Hendren is only 100 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the the Wildkats.

The Bulldogs' Issac Mattis is a mere 39 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 178 carries Mattis has accumulated 961 yard this year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on King City. At the moment, South Harrison is in first, while Micah Breckenridge's team is in sixth.

Gallatin led Grand River in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on the Bobcats. Ness in the win.
