Baseball Game Preview: Hart Pirates vs. Mason County Central Spartans

The Hart Pirates will head out to take on the Mason County Central Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Manistee hit Hart with a five-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates came up short against the Mariners, falling 12-3. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Mariners: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Mason County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-4 to Whitehall.

Mason County Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drake McKay, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Peyton Merz was another, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hart's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-1. As for Mason County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Hart skirted past Mason County Central 6-5 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
