Soccer Game Preview: Righetti vs. Arroyo Grande

Righetti is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Arroyo Grande is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Righetti Warriors will host the Arroyo Grande Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Righetti is headed into the contest having not lost since December 7 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Paso Robles onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Bearcats are ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Righetti's one-goal win came courtesy of Andres Gonzales, who's now up to 12 this season.

Meanwhile, Arroyo Grande came up short against Pioneer Valley on Tuesday and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly two goals.

Righetti is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-1-4 record this season. As for Arroyo Grande, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1.

Righetti was able to grind out a solid win over Arroyo Grande in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 2-0. Will Righetti repeat their success, or does Arroyo Grande have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
