League recap: Lathrop scores huge upset over East Buchanan

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lathrop, who defeated 50th ranked East Buchanan, 66-42.

Penney took down North Platte 55-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kellen Overstreet ran for 250 yards in the win.

The Hornets' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Overstreet chipped in 250 yards.

Overstreet was a beast in the backfield as Penney beat the Panthers.

Shawn Cook was a key player and the best on defense this week as Dave Fairchild's team beat North Platte. He recorded 2 fumbles.

Overstreet was a passing and rushing force as the Hornets bested the Panthers.

Overstreet was the most successful running back in KCI this week. Teammate Keithan Litton added to the ground attack by rushing for 125 yards.

Penney's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Drew Finch has thrown for 480 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Overstreet has 16 catches for 281 yards.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Penney takes on the Bulldogs. The Hornets are currently in third, while East Buchanan is in second.

The Mules made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,373 from 4,655. The advance stemmed from a 66-42 victory over Kevin Bryan's team last week.
