Baseball Recap: Kennett Takes a Loss

Kennett made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Poplar Bluff, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians fell just short of the Mules by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered against the Mules since March 19, 2019.

Kennett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Kennett has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Poplar Bluff, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-10.

Kennett has already played their next contest (against Dexter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Poplar Bluff, they will challenge Kelly at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
