Basketball Recap: Heritage Comes Up Short

Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos. The Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Heritage still got an impressive performance from Rylan White, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 21 points along with eight boards and six assists. The match was White's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Bensyl, who went 5 of 10 to rack up 13 points.

Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-16 record this season.

Looking ahead, Heritage will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond at 7:00 p.m. As for Cerro Gordo/Bement, they have already played their next game, a 51-36 victory against Judah Christian on the 8th.
