Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for the First Academy

The First Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They blew past the Jupiter Warriors 11-3. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Josh Garcia looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, The First Academy got a massive performance out of Remo Indomenico, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Indomenico is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Simmons, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

The First Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jupiter only posted an OBP of .296.

The First Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Jupiter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The First Academy will face off against Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jupiter, they will head out to square off against Olympia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
