Chaparral is 0-10 against Goddard since January of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Chaparral Lobos will welcome the Goddard Rockets at 2:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Chaparral didn't have too much trouble with Loretto as they won 46-28. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 100th in New Mexico, while the Angels are ranked 939th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chaparral to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Dominquez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Dominquez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 28 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Arianna Molina, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Goddard hadn't done well against Roswell recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Goddard managed a 51-45 victory over Roswell. That's two games straight that the Rockets have won by exactly six points.
Goddard's win came from a few key players Chaparral will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lauren Medrano, who went 8 of 10 on her way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Natalie Hardwick, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds.
Goddard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.
Goddard has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Chaparral, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
