Baseball Recap: Harmon's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Winnetonka, Harmon was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 12-9 win over the Northeast Vikings. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hawks' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jesus Portillo Carrillo was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over 4.1 innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off only one hit. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Harmon: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 0-12 otherwise.

Harmon moved to 2-13 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Northeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Harmon will venture away from home to face off against Center at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Northeast, they will host East at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Northeast will need to watch out since East has now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
