Port of Los Angeles extended their postseason success on Friday against Verdugo Hills. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Dons 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Polar Bears as they're now sitting on 14 straight.

Alyssa Setka spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Port of Los Angeles' victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rochelle Watkins, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Port of Los Angeles' record is now 17-4. As for Verdugo Hills, they moved to 9-11-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Port of Los Angeles will take on Eagle Rock at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Polar Bears 2, the Eagles 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Verdugo Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
