Baseball Recap: Midland Classical Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Midland Classical Academy took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Lubbock Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Midland Classical Academy Knights had just enough and edged out the Lubbock Christian Eagles 10-9 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since March 23, 2024.

Levi Bayley made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Midland Classical Academy: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise. Bayley was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Bayley wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Henry Friez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

The victory snapped Midland Classical Academy's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-9 record. As for Lubbock Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Midland Classical Academy will head out to challenge Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
