Baseball Recap: Oak Hills Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Oak Hills barely beat Apple Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Sun Devils with a sharp 20-8 win on Tuesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Nick Ford looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Oak Hills got a massive performance out of James Juarez, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Juarez a new career-high. Aiden Gutierrez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Oak Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Oak Hills is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Apple Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Sun Devils beat Oak Hills by a score of 9-4 on Wednesday.
