Meade and Laurel squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Meade had to settle for second. They fell 64-52 to the Laurel Spartans. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their 21-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Meade still got an impressive performance from Keon Scott, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 25 points along with seven steals and five assists. The match was Scott's third in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Ashton Turman, who posted ten points.

Laurel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jermaine Taylor led the charge by going 5-for-12 to rack up 18 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in each of the last six games he's played. Amadou Kaloga was another key player, shooting 56% from the field en route to 14 points.

Meade's loss dropped their record down to 23-4. As for Laurel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Meade does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Laurel, they have already played their next game, a 68-53 win against Whitman on the 15th.
