Baseball Recap: McKinney North Takes a Loss

McKinney North was the 8-3 winner over Anna when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. McKinney North fell just short of Anna by a score of 4-2 on Friday.

McKinney North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Shelton, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

McKinney North has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. The victory snapped Anna's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-11 record.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. McKinney North is set to square off against their familiar foe Denison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Anna will take on rival Melissa at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Anna their first taste of in-conference action this season.
