Baseball Game Preview: Hayward Farmers vs. Encinal Jets

Hayward hasn't had much luck against Encinal recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Farmers will host the Jets at 4:00 p.m.

Hayward's last matchup with Arroyo could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Farmers lost 10-3 to the Dons. The Farmers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Encinal waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 9-3 win. With that victory, the Jets brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Evan Furuichi, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hunter Willett, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hayward's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Encinal, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
