Baseball Game Preview: Tulia Hornets vs. River Road Wildcats

The Tulia Hornets will challenge the River Road Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Tulia nor River Road posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Tuesday, Tulia didn't have quite enough to beat Bushland and fell 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hornets have suffered against the Falcons since April 2, 2019.

Tulia saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Marquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, River Road was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 34-2 to Bushland.

This is the second loss in a row for Tulia and nudges their season record down to 13-7-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for River Road, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

River Road's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tulia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for River Road, though, as they've only averaged .224. Will they be able to contain Tulia's hitters?

Tulia took their victory against River Road in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 17-8 score. Do the Hornets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
