Statesville extended their home winning streak to four games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Manuel (MJ) Gladden. The Greyhounds escaped with a win on Monday against the North Rowan Cavaliers by the margin of a single free throw, 71-70 with plenty of help from Gladden, who almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine steals. He has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times he's played.

North Rowan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Carter Williams, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Massenburg, who posted 16 points and five assists.

The win got Statesville back to even at 2-2. As for North Rowan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Statesville has already played their next matchup, an 82-50 defeat against Salisbury on the 5th. As for North Rowan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 91-61 loss against Lexington Senior on the 2nd.
