Neelyville lost to Kennett back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Neelyville Tigers strolled past the Kennett Indians with points to spare, taking the game 64-50. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Indians are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Kennett lost, don't look at Alyce Edwards. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 39 points and 11 steals. That was a full 78% of Kennett's points, marking the 24th time in a row Edwards has posted more than a third of the team's points.

Neelyville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points over those games. As for Kennett, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.
