Baseball Recap: Matanzas Takes a Loss

Matanzas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-4 to the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Nick Pandich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wiley Connor, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Matanzas' loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Flagler Palm Coast, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-9.

Matanzas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 defeat against Palatka on the 14th. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-10 loss against Lyman on the 17th.
