After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montini Catholic, St. Edward was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Timothy Christian Trojans as they made off with a 12-5 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Green Wave have posted against the Trojans since May 13, 2021.
Alaina Nolan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Nolan was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since April 4th.
In other batting news, Sarah Gurley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Layne Dawson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
St. Edward was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timothy Christian only posted a batting average of .214.
The victory got St. Edward back to even at 8-8. As for Timothy Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
St. Edward will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
