Basketball Recap: East Ascension Triumphs

East Ascension's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Denham Springs Yellowjackets by a score of 37-26. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 59-26 victory the Yellowjackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Denham Springs lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zariah Semere, who posted eight points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Prai Nelson, who earned five points and five steals.

East Ascension's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Denham Springs, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 18-9.

East Ascension does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denham Springs, they will challenge Live Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
