Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for South Dearborn

South Dearborn had won five straight games and Scout Gray did his part to make it six on Friday. The South Dearborn Knights blew past the Rushville Lions 69-43 thanks to Gray, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven assists and five steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Tyler Christian was another key player, putting up ten points along with six assists and five boards. Those six assists gave him a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Rushville had strong showings from Clayton Chase, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points, and Owen Zachery, who posted 13 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Zachery now owns an excellent 41.2% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of XxZavien Jenkins, who scored six points.

South Dearborn's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. As for Rushville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

South Dearborn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-52 loss against Southwestern on the 1st. As for Rushville, they have also already played their next game, a 53-36 defeat against East Central on the 1st.
