Soccer Game Preview: Dimond vs. West Valley

The Dimond Lynx are taking a road trip to challenge the West Valley Wolf Pack at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

West Valley better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Dimond's game on Friday is any indication, that's when Dimond really gets things going. The Lynx's defense stepped up to hand Lathrop a 3-0 shutout. Dimond might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Valley). Everything went their way against Bartlett on Friday as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for West Valley in their matchups with Bartlett: they've now won three in a row.

The victory got West Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Dimond, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Dimond came out on top in a nail-biter against West Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Lynx have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolf Pack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
