Softball Recap: Hardin-Jefferson Takes a Loss

Hardin-Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Hargrave Falcons, falling 10-2. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Savannah Stelly was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Hardin-Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laila Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Hardin-Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Hargrave, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-8 record.

Coming up, Hardin-Jefferson will take on Livingston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Livingston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Hargrave, they will challenge Shepherd at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
