20 must be South Pontotoc's lucky number: they beat Houston with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Cougars beat the Hilltoppers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 20-8. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jacee Mcclellan, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Macy Bain was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

South Pontotoc has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Houston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 19 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

South Pontotoc will face off against Senatobia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Houston, they will take on Greenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.67 runs per game on average), something the Hilltoppers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
