Basketball Recap: Aberdeen Christian Takes a Loss

Aberdeen Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 45-20 to the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hitchcock-Tulare to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rebecca Huizenga, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Huizenga is becoming a predictor of Hitchcock-Tulare's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 6-11 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Schroeder, who earned 12 points and six boards.

Aberdeen Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Coming up, Aberdeen Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Langford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they are taking a road trip to challenge Wolsey-Wessington at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
