Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jentry Zimmerman and Ana Champagne Lead North Huron to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy, North Huron was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-30 win over the Peck Pirates. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

North Huron was led to victory by Ana Champagne and Jentry Zimmerman. Champagne posted seven points along with nine rebounds and six assists, while Zimmerman went 7 for 11 on her way to 16 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Zimmerman a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jenna Schornack, who had seven points and 11 boards.

North Huron has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Peck, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

North Huron and Peck's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. North Huron will challenge Kingston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, a team that's only allowed 27.92 points per game. North Huron's defense has only allowed 24.9 points per game this season, so Peck's offense will have their work cut out for them. Similarly, Peck and Deckerville (who has only given up 29.14 points per game) will meet at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
