Baseball Recap: Providence Gets the Win

Providence won the last time they faced Southwestern and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pioneers won by a run and slipped past the Rebels 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Kalen Sipes was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Haynes, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Providence's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Southwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence will venture away from home to challenge Henryville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Southwestern, they will head out on the road to square off against South Ripley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
