Basketball Game Preview: Catoosa Indians vs. Skiatook Bulldogs

The Catoosa Indians will head out to square off against the Skiatook Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Catoosa turned things around against Locust Grove on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 78-71. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Pirates are ranked 280th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Skiatook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-31 victory over Miami. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Skiatook's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Catoosa, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-4.

Catoosa skirted past Skiatook 71-68 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Catoosa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
