Basketball Recap: Marengo Takes a Loss

Marengo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against Sandwich, falling 74-47. While losing is never fun, Marengo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 663rd, while Sandwich is ranked 301st).

Marengo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-26. As for Sandwich, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-11.

Looking ahead, Marengo will take on Marian Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sandwich, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Sandwich's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home while Hall has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
