Baseball Game Preview: St. Cloud Bulldogs vs. Tohopekaliga Tigers

The St. Cloud Bulldogs will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Tohopekaliga Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Cloud is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Winter Park on Thursday. They lost 11-1 to the Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

St. Cloud saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammy Echeverry, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Tohopekaliga came up short against Central Pointe Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 8-3.

Tohopekaliga also got a good showing from Anthony Capuana, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Efren Blanco Jr made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Hudson Moberly was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Tohopekaliga's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for St. Cloud, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
