Softball Recap: Bloomsburg Panthers vs. Hughesville Spartans
Bloomsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell 10-6 to the Hughesville Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bloomsburg of the 17-13 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April.
Mya Coyne made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Madeline Devine, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Bloomsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Hughesville, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.
Bloomsburg will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Shamokin Area at 10:00 a.m. As for Hughesville, they will head out on the road to take on Milton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
